Everything Everywhere All at Once (one of the greatest films ever made), and Petite Maman have one thing in common: The core of their story arcs is elemental, personal and deeply human. Both are about mothers and daughters. How they tell their story couldn't be more different: EEAO is chaotic and hyper-complex and long. PM is whimsical, idyllic and short.
You have somehow ascribed the nature of EE to PM, Mike, which is very interesting and would actually make for a good movie. Just a very different movie. It's nice to have PM as beloved warm sweater that loves you when you as you slide your arms through the sleeves and poke your head through the neck. It's comfortable and reminiscent of days gone by, reaffirming who you are and where you've been.
Such a delightful movie.
