I don't doubt that, between the insane heat (that's probably 10x worse in an attic) and the lack of moisture, I would think most stuff would avoid your attics.

I went to the Phoenix area once, I think it was Jul or Aug, for 2-3 days. "But it's a dry heat." Yeah, so is my oven, but you won't find me hanging out in there.
