Building a high powered home stereo… Audiophiles help..

May look into a Yamaha M-85 to power the DX9s

I understand the magnets on the DX9 weighs 25 to 30LBS alone.

While these are efficient speaks bass eats lots of power really fast.

I’m going to use my Pioneer D1S coupled with the Yamaha M-85 I believe may go a different direction.

I listen to mostly 70s rock Clapton 80s rock Van Halen, Clapton, ACDC and 90s Alt ect.

These Cerwin Vegas were made to for full throttle 70s/80s/90s rock. I’ve never experienced JBL on anything other jazz/rap/adult contemporary (Ugg) anyhow I somehow think JBLs may start to struggle on the upper end with loud, powerful rock but never really heard JBLs at full tilt. Especially with hard rock ect. Easy listening yes they sound quite nice and warm.

I know JBL 4343 studio monitors from the 70s are supposed to be amazing sounding speaks but have never seen these belting out hard 70s 80s 90s rock in reviews only easy listening… R&B…
