I don't smoke, so I don't have a cigarette lighter that has batteries that needs to be charged!

On my 1980s cars there is nothing to save. Even the stereos seem to keep their settings now.

For my wife's car, the 2017 Macan she drives it regularly, and the battery stays charged. I do have a Autel OBD2 gizmo to tell the Macan it has a new battery, and to introduce them, and to play nice together. With her old Mercedes I replaced the battery, and I had to go to the dealership and pay them over $100 to hook it to the computer so the windows would roll up properly, and the sunroof would work right.

I do have a battery maintainer on my 85 911. I mounted the small unit inside the trunk, and have it hard wired into place. I just plug a extension cord into it and plug it into the wall in the dead of winter if it will be a month or more before I drive it.
