Yesterday was a record breaker for low temps. We never hit 60 degrees and we received 1.95 inches of rain at our house. Overnight more rain came through and we got another 1.72 inches and it is supposed to rain all day. The lakes were already at capacity or flood stage, so I imagine the gates are open and dumping water downstream. The folks going to the lake for Memorial day will have great weather, but they may not be able to get into the lakes if the beaches are flooded, and there is debris in the lake from the floods.
Too much water is a good problem to have. The people living in the low lying areas will flood yet again, but they have to expect that. We live on top of a hill, and we will never flood. We had 12 inches of rain in 36 hours once, and not even a slight problem here.
