The more you look at it the weirder it is. There is no deformation towards the hub. Just a strange looking hole. Plus curb rash on the inside - also a bit weird. An unloved wheel for sure; but what actually happened to it.

I'm wondering if it had been repaired in the past by cold hammering it back into shape, and the bit of metal just gave up and blew out.
