I am not a fan of seeing coyotes in the community but the bobcats keep the rabbit population down. In our city, house cats are not allowed to roam.
We have a few different types of falcons in the neighborhood. Kestrels and Merlins I have seen hunting around my property.
I had a Merlin crash into my front window. It was a cool spring morning with some fresh wet snow and I found the poor bird on the ground. I went to the garage and grabbed my welding gloves and was able to get the bird to perch on my hand while I took it to the back yard out of the wind and into the sun to warm up. It hung out perched on my hand for about 20 minutes and I took out my phone to try to call someone to help me out. As soon as the phone beeped, the bird shook off the shock and flew off.
That was a really cool experience to be able to examine a wild raptor so closely!
