Our region is pretty small. We have 12 to 15 or so PCA member at the autocross, and some of them show up in a Miata. We opened it up to non PCA members so we can take in enough money to pay for the site, ($250) and the mandated security guard the facility requires. ($150) We do 8 total timed runs.
We don't do classes, or even announce a winner of any class. The timing sheets are available to all to look at. There is a pride thing for FTD and I will will never have to worry about it.
We don't have any awards at all, it is just for fun. I went to the local SCCA autocross just once. It is an all day event, with a zillion different classes, and long awards presentation. It cost a ton because they rent a facility's large parking lot, and hand out trophies. 4 times runs, and lots of waiting.
