My kids aren't the same age, but might as well drop this recent info here for others.

I have a 4 year old and 2 month old. Just this year got my 4 year old into the back of my 3.2. I used a mifold comfort booster seat. Not completely sold on it as it is intended to bring the seat belt down to the child, instead of boosting them up to the belt. In the back of our cars the belt buckle rides high on the transmission tunnel and so I feel the chest strap sits at a weird angle and in an accident he would not be secured.

Looking at the mifold hifold now which is more a traditional framed booster. Also ordering the bublebum inflatable booster. Most traditional boosters don't seem to fit in the seat properly. I tried a few from graco, peg, etc.

For your age child I saw the Pico portable car seat which my kid is at the top end of fitment, so I didn't bother.
