Well.... I've been romping in the woods here since '70, and it was my rural boy scout camp back then.... lived here for the past 30 and watched it change from rural to suburbia. I captured a beautiful fox on my cell phone video about 3-4 years ago.... in my back yard... middle of the day. It had been on my neighbor's front porch... eating cat food
. My parents saw one in their back yard (lotsa woods behind them too) just a few weeks ago. Just like deer, coyote, turkeys, etc. .... these critters just weren't in "these" woods when I was a youngin' .... their locations and habits have certainly changed and adapted since I was a kid.
Deer know me and my dawg (by smell) enough that they'll just ignore us. 30 years ago... no chance of that....
And both of these woods are in the city.... my rural property is a animal sanctuary too... now. It wasn't when my great-grandfather lived there 100 years ago

Big Azz snappers older than you & I .... they don't have sanctuary tho'... nor do rabid critters.
