Just when I thought a franchise was broken horse bones I watched "The Batman".
3 freaking hours which was actually worth it.
No colors. No sunshine. Just the haze and waste which Gotham was/is. Not a feel good movie.
Robert Pattinson's hard stare is still that of a little schoolboy caught in the act but he gave it 100% bulked up (double?) like Bale and sold the role. Action sequences were good. This was one of only recent superhero movies that had a rational plot and tied up almost all the big loose ends. The Batman made mistakes and got hurt.
(spoiler)
The character height changes made it a little confusing. Same with the Camero batmobile and low tech used even when placed after Marconi being caught from the previous series. It didn't delve into the Bruce Wayne alter ego at all which would have doubled the run time. The Bat should have no problem with a room full of cops after his training. That uncertainty kept it interesting.
