Q: Why are manhole covers round?
A: It's the only shape that won't fall in the hole!
Q: If the Earth was a perfect sphere, and you laid a piece of string around the entire Earth's surface at the Equator, how long would the string be? Now, if you added one foot to the string, how far off the Earth's surface, uniformly, would the string be?
