The world's highest recorded tide was measured in the Bay of Fundy near Burntcoat Head. 52' 6"
The length of the bay is such that its natural period is approximately 13 hours. The time between high tides is about 12 hours 25 minutes. Close enough to create a resonance, which produces the amazing tides.
The erosion of the sandstone cliffs around parts of the bay uncover new dinosaur fossils each year.
