I have had almost opposite experiences. Bought some parts on eBay that seemed sketchy as hell. I didn’t care, just needed a cheap part and rolled the dice. Got the brand name. Most recent was an aftermarket reed valve for a two stroke Dirtbike.
With that said, I am married to the worlds biggest skeptic. So I am either very diligent or enter transactions with low expectations. Or both.
