Guys this is the easiest/simplest fix. Move the hinge to the right side of the cover. It will then open against the existing brick wall. Problem solved without spending a dime.

Have you thought about using an articulated mount for the TV so you can pull it out and angle it as needed? I recently installed on for a friend and it worked out great.
