I do about a clutch job every 2 months. I drop Porsche and Ferrari engines every month. For me, this job would be a 5 on a scale of 10, but I am at the extreme side of mechanic ability.
A 964 C4 needs a bit of a trick to remove the front drive shaft going to the front two wheels. Other than that, it's a straight forward of an engine removal job for an air cool 911.
You don't need a work shop manual. Just get into it and post questions when you are stuck.
