I will be 80 in a few weeks. I haven't had any problems requiring replacements or surgery, except for two hernia surgeries almost 30 years ago. I do have age related mildly high blood pressure, cholesterol, chronic kidney disease (stabilized for years), eye pressure treated with drops, etc. All things irritating but not disabling. I have tried to always subscribe to the "everything in moderation" most of my life in the way of exercise, eating, etc.. I do take a multiple vitamin mostly for the trace minerals. I actually don't think it's that important, & I can't offer any specific advice on pain, arthritis, etc. I've always done a lot of exercise without doing it on an "exercise program" basis. My wife & I went on a five+ mile hike day before yesterday, I laid rebar & mixed & put down 18 bags of cement (premixed) yesterday fixing a small retreat area in the back. Like others have said, I think there is a big benefit to keeping moving, whether it's in an organized way or just making sure you are active on a daily basis. I think that's the reason (along with some luck) I haven't suffered from aches & pains from joints & muscles, & whatever else. Too many people become sedentary as they get older, & that's one big thing I think needs to be avoided.

Edit: By the way, who are you implying are oldsters around here ???
