For the OP, me, personally, I wouldn’t be afraid to put some kind of finish on that brick.
Because IMO that brick no longer matches the rest of the decor, style and colors of that room.
If I didn’t like how the finish came out, I’d tear it all out and start over. That imposing brick structure just is just too much and imo is cheap looking and not worth preserving.
