Friendly A/C reminder and an A/C belt tension question

Hi,

A friendly suggestion, having the original York a/c system filled and working for the first time since owning the car, both fans removed over winter and cleaned up so they run smooth, cold and quiet, I suggest to feel all the connectors for excess heat under operation.

The front condenser blower connector next to the battery was almost kettle hot. Sepperated the connectors, soldered and cleaned, now it's cool. The evap in the smugglers box including the relay, mildly warm, cleaned and soldered two or three of them. All connectors now cool. I know there is a fuse that can be added, but this is a quick test that I'd suggest be performed every year. Didn't delete the connectors, just soldered at the crimp, using flux solder.

Question Now,
York compressor belt to crank, a/c off, belt runs smooth, a/c on and it wobbles about as each compression stroke happens I imagine. How much wobble do we tolerate before tightening?

Phil, 81 sc us.

Oh yeah, the a/c is like a revelation, not to mention the stereo sounds so good with the windows all up, it's a really nice improvement.
