Jeff: I respect your opinion when it comes to firearms. I may be wrong but it was my understanding that the Blackhawk Flat Top
New Model was not designed for +P loads in the 45 Colt. I can tell you that I can see a thinner inner wall of the cylinder of the Colt cylinder. Here is a pic (not mine) sent to me to explain the thinner wall between chambers on the upper (and shorter) cylinder
