I recently had the "TPMS monitor fault" show up on the dash of my 09 Ford Taurusaurus on a cross country trip, about 5 or 6 hours into the trip when I had checked the tire pressures before my departure and they were fine. So I pull over at the closest rural fuel station and wait a few minutes then check the tires with my gauge. They are all fine. Funny thing on the Taurusaurus the dash warning message gives me an option of pressing the reset button on the steering wheel to dismiss the message. So that's what I did. Maybe it was pressure change due to change in elevation. Sometimes even a changing weather front will freak out the TPMS on many vehicles. All you can do is shake your head at all the folks in the past that had Firestone tires on Ford Explorers. Yep, that's why this is a non issue aggravation for someone who maintains their stuff!
