The 911S was my main weakness...but it wasn't considered a "status" car when I bought it...the then new 930 was. The more sought after as a collectable the 911S became, the less I enjoyed it. Eventually, it became an albatross around my neck, one I am glad to be shed of. Beware of the "more stuff" syndrome...for the more stuff you have, the more stuff you have to take care of. Select your stuff carefully.
Reminds me of leaving church with mom on a long ago day, a couple leaving in a Cadillac..."Wow mom, he must have a lot of money." Mom: "Well, he used to." The message stuck...a good lesson on the value of "stuff".

My gf likes to impress others. Me? I'm like meh, I don't need to impress anyone. I guess for her, it's a Korean thing. I told her that is stupid because you are putting yourself out there as a target. With Covid tanking the economy/jobs, people are really struggling and some are very desperate.
FWIW, I do have some very expensive watches, but really don't wear them. Lately, I've been wearing a MoonSwatch a Speedy, and a couple Seikos. The Seikos are really GS but flies under the radar because people just see Seiko.
