Lindbergh took off about 5 miles from where I am sitting now...Either Mitchell Field, or Roosevelt Field just west of Merrick Ave... If you ever find yourself on Long Island, The Cradle of Aviation is a must see... along with The American Airpower Museum at Republic Airport.. Where Republic late Fairchild/Republic built planes.. Grumman is a few miles east, where they built the F14..
