Noah, the alternator swap looks like fun. I learned over the years to take the time to have the old one rebuilt by a local professional rebuild place. They rebuilt it better than most part store Chinese or South American factory that mostly wants volume, and not quality.
The good news is I can swap the alternator on my El Camino in 15 minutes if I take my time to clean the bracket before putting it on the new alternator.
Brent, it sounds like a nice trip. With my wife, we usually go two hours minimum, and sometimes three hours between stops to "rest" and the rest stop. My 911 can go 500 miles non stop but my bladder sure can't.
