Its comfortable to shoot with 45 Colts and has a 2nd cylinder for 45 ACP.
I just held a 36 Cheifs Special this week. Very old (no dash in the serial #) and in excellent condition. I didn't need it but the 'want' was really bad.

"Lowly"??? Anything but, Joe. Everything considered, one of the greatest, most useful guns we have ever made. I would never be without one. Mine is my "go-to" back packing, extended wilderness stay gun. Also in .45 Colt. This thing has probably logged more miles on my hip in the wilderness than every other sidearm I own combined. It's the one I grab when I just need one that works, and can be forgotten about until needed, regardless of weather. Yeah, I'll grab a Dragoon if I'm going hunting, but they are noticeably heavier and less handy than the Ruger. For general "woods bumming", the Ruger just can't be beat.
