The picket fence I have was constantly being taken down by wind. It was allegedly designed to be just the vinyl post (hollow). But when wind load increased, it would just pull the bracket or tear a chunk out of the vinyl post. Worst investment I think I've ever made. I ended up putting 2x4's in the sleeves and fastening the fence brackets through the vinyl post into the 2x4. This fixed the problem of the posts tearing.
