We were walking our golden retriever and border collie. Our cabin is in a very quiet cove with lots of families with small children. From one of the rental cabins, this pitbull comes racing up the hillside and clamps down on the leg of our border collie. The pitbull pulled her and me down the hillside. Poor Elsie was just howling in pain. The only way I got that pitbull to let go of Elsie was to find a big branch and keep beating it over the head until it was stunned. Almost 2 months later she is still limping and can’t put much weight on the leg that was injured. The sheriff was called. The pitbull was taken and euthanized. This was easily a 70 pound dog. I don’t know what I would’ve done if it turned on me.

I'm so glad that you and Elsie came out relatively well, and the dangerous dog was taken care of. I hate to hear about any dog having to be put down, but sometimes....
It's a shame they can't/don't do the same with the owners in that situation.
