At least I have trusted people who know how to deal with numbers that big... and on the wife's side of the family, most are dead, and on my side of the family most have a few million already. Would need to take care of my brother, but that is easy enough to do via a lawyer (did I mention the trusted people?) Needless to say the PPOT Gift Exchange could be interesting
A guy that worked down the hall as an AV Tech (pushing TVs and VCRs around campus...) won 10 million. Stayed in the job to see a certain two people fired. Two years later, that happens, but he only has 3 years to pull a full state retirement, his girlfriend who he's been with for 15 years (to the college's surprise) had 4 to go herself, so he stayed and got his full state pension too. Lotto comes to about 250k/yr post taxes, and he's "done it right". Bought a new car and a reasonable house, and banks/reinvests most of his annual take home.
