^^^ Like Solamar said, if you are willing to do some of the work it will help cost.
Good quality paint does cost, and any shop with a good painter has to pay him well. I have seen one Maaco job and I could see 60 grit sand marks through the paint, I pointed this out to the cars owner and he sent it back and they fixed it.
Last time I picked up some metallic silver base coat paint up here it was $120 Litre, require about 1.5L then add clear and hardeners. That was 10+ years ago.
