I posted in the "Navage" thread about my problems with runny nose, nasal drip while sleeping and allergies. The Navage worked OK and gave me some relief but the Wife insisted I see my Doc and see what he thought. I was snorting, hacking and spitting for the first half hour every morning and she was getting annoyed.
He referred me to an ENT and the Doc is really good. They gave me a CT scan of my sinuses and besides finding out that i don't have an upper sinus cavity on my left side (15% of people don't, maybe why I've never gotten headaches)my left side was filled halfway and my right side was completely filled.
Come to find out I don't have allergies, it's sinusitis most likely caused or aggravated by my bout with COVID. He put me on a month long round of Amoxicillin (875 mg twice a day).
I went for my follow up today and it looks like it did the trick. 2 weeks into the antibiotics I was able to finally breath through my right nostril, I had never even noticed how bad it was. Now I have more stamina and less tired and no snoring!
The Doc told me today he's seeing a lot of cases of this due to COVID, more so with the later Omicron strain that was similar to a head cold as opposed to the original which affected the lungs.
Just an FYI in case anyone else has been noticing an uptick in the severity of their allergies or a sudden onset of allergy symptoms.
