Do you use fabric softener when washing or softener sheets when drying your towels? It often does reduce their absorbency.
Some towel manufacturers recommend that periodically (about every six weeks), that after your regular washing cycle, you wash them a second time using vinegar instead of soap (to remove soap residue and make them soft and absorbent as they were when new).
