About a week after we lost Maddie (
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/off-topic-discussions/1122552-maddie.html) we started seeing a black and white cat off in the bushes behind the house. We put food out for it and sat on the porch talking to it for a few minutes every evening. She started coming closer, a foot or so every night. She is very, very skittish and bolts at the slightest movement. Long story short after 3 weeks she comes when we call her for dinner and is coming closer and closer to us. Tonight I put the food by my feet and she crept up very warily, but did get within 6 inches of me and sat down to eat. She'll be eating out our hands in a week or so. She is a beautiful little Tuxedo Kitty, so we call her KT.
It is so gratifying to see this terrified little creature learn to trust us. I think she showed up because she sensed a vacancy after Maddie left us. We are assuming it is a "she" and hoping she isn't pregnant.
