My understanding is that the stuff sold as places like Home Depot, Walmart, Lowes, etc... are built to a price point. I've been told that the John Deere stuff that you can buy at Home Depot is not the same quality as the JD stuff that you buy at an independent dealer. I'm sure that is probably the case for 98% of the stuff that you get at HD, Lowes, etc....
