The car had been experiencing some light hesitation at partial throttle for a while which, after having the valves adjusted, grew to a weird shudder coming off idle to about 2500 - 3000 RPMs. Full throttle, the car was totally fine but it made getting around town annoying because it would lightly buck and hesitate during normal operation.

The ol' Weber book (please note - I was born in '79 and carbs are a bit of a mystery to me) said to clean the idle jets before you mess with anything else. Welp, sure enough, two had small but visible debris in them and now the car feels like someone just installed a new motor.

Sometimes the simple victories are the best.
