There's much, much more awareness of mental health issues now than even 10 years ago, let alone 25 or 50 years ago. Even PTSD is a 'relatively' new diagnosis.

Let's also not forget the fragility of our society these days, where you can take a service animal on a plane with you because flying makes you nervous (or you don't want to pay for cargo), or a moderately off color comment gets you condemned and canceled forever.

Not to mention big pharma making big profits.

It all adds up to a much larger incidence.
