From 1991 to 2018 prescriptions in the USA for SSRI's rose 3,000 percent. Last year the number of prescriptions written for the most common SSRI's was 224 million. There are approximately 334 million people in the USA.
Psychotropic drugs don't necessarily accomplish much except for increasing Big Pharma's profits. And social media combined with a deluge of negative information doesn't help either.
