Question for the experts - I have a 3.2 engine installed in a 1969E and I'm trying to get the oil pressure sender wired up and make sure that the sender is compatible with my '69 gauge.

Currently have a sender from a 74 in the socket/block at the rear of the engine which is fed of the cam tower oil line. This is the same setup as a 3.2, but the sender has the 0-10 BAR range required to get a correct reading on my gauge. The engine was run on a test stand and a mechanical oil pressure gauge showed good readings, but I'm not getting any oil pressure reading on my gauge when cranking the engine after installation in the car. I have no idea if the sender is good, it came with the engine.

Before I buy another '74 (which has the proper 18mm threaded end) and install it, am I correct in assuming that this should work?

The other two options:
1) Purchase the adapter and use a '69 sender with the 12mm threads on the 3.2 block. Not sure there is enough clearance for this to work

2) Install a '69 sender on in the triangle of death where it would have been on the '69 motor. I'd be replacing the unconnected oil pressure idiot light switch which is currently there, but it's really tight fit with the motor in the car and I'm afraid I won't get it tight and have an annoying oil leak. Has anyone replaced that switch with the engine in the car? Looks like I would need some crows feet sockets to get it in and out?
