I had one several years ago and when it “kicked”, it put me on the floor. It wouldn’t pass, so surgery was done- took half a day total and I was back home. Saw the X-ray and that thing looked like an medieval mace.
They put a stent in so my urethra wouldn’t heal together. Out patient to have the stent removed- no drugs for that. They have some sort of grabber with a camera that injects water as it goes up and makes you squirm and make little girl sounds, but no pain, just a freaky feeling. Afterwards you got to pee real bad because they basically filled your bladder in reverse.
The urologist did give me a list of foods to be eaten in moderation- I’ve done really good at avoiding spinach- you know, doctor’s orders! I think she said there are 4 types of stones. I was also told natural calcium was fine, but avoid artificial calcium products.
Good luck! I’ve had several women who have given birth and had kidney stones and they said the stones were worse.
