A set of 30 300W panels on a house will output up to 10kW of power, giving you 80kWh in an 8 hour day, which will fully charge two vehicles. Of course some places will have more or less sunlight, but the maths suggests there is plenty of solar energy available to cover our needs, given current population levels.
