I was shopping for an F-Type.
Finally found one to check out.
The car is great to look at but I soured on it the minute I sat in it.
I'm only 5'8"
Car is made for taller people.
And even being a smaller driver it felt really claustrophobic.
I didn't dig it at all.
Went with an XK instead, more traditional GT Coupe and doesn't scream mid life crises as much as the F-Type.
It's really hard not to get the Supercharged R type cause it's 100 more ponies and Supercharged and we are car guys.
Based on the XK experience, the R is total overkill.
The NA is already a beast and makes for a better DD.
The NA suspension is right at the edge of feeling great without going over into R territory where it's just to stiff to be a comfortable DD.
We shall see on the reliability but Jags the last decade+ have been rock solid. No issues clocking 150k+ with normal maintenance.
I don't know production numbers on the F-Type but over the 8 years they built XK's there is only something like 55,000 out there with less than 25,000 in the US.
You'll almost never see yourself coming down the road in one.
