Thanks guys. A fair amount of work and not done yet but I love these kind of projects. I'm pleasantly surprised with how well the 12v fridge works, as good as my LG at home. It's made by Sunfrost for solar applications and it makes ice in just a few hours. I have 2 panels and 2 big batteries dedicated to the fridge, the light and my tool battery chargers and I have power to spare. This place is pretty remote with any utilities 10 miles away. I'd be totally off grid except I still use propane for the stoves, water heater and indoor fridge. That's a tough one to eliminate. I have unlimited firewood, wood stove for heat and I could rig an inside the stove radiator for hot water and cook on the stove too but that doesn't work in summer. I'd love to be truly off grid but I'm not that hard core and am addicted to the convenience of gas. I guess now that I'm almost 70 I've turned into a pansy
