We lived in an apt for almost 7 years. The AC in the apt died. The guys had it fixed in 3-4 hours, but in the mean time, they wheeled one of those in. It cooled the apt down quickly and then kept it plenty cool. It was a 850-900sqft apt, and was cooling the "main room" which was kitchen/dining/living area so probably ~700sqft
