So, our 7th grade boy had their first 7th-8th grade football scrimmage today. Poor kid played defensive tackle and got double teamed most of the night. He did OK playing guard and tackle on offense, but one kid he had a hard time blocking since the other kid only came up to Jacob's chest. They aren't allowed to touch the helmet when blocking and I thought he would be a great tight end since he is big and has pretty good hands (he used to practice diving on the couch catching the football since he was little) but they have to weigh less than 150 pounds to carry the ball. He is 5'10" and 172#. I was 5'10 and 178# as a sophomore.
