That, and the placement of the "extra" Turbo emblems on the Targa Bar. Porsche has always done tasteful and for the most parts conservative, done what was going on with the era. This not being a special wishes car, where a client can get as bad taste as his checkbook can afford, plus, how would a very low mileage, speciality build "test" mule be one that "always needs some work " ?
One, I can't picture Porsche letting it go to just "anyone ", it would have been Brumos (like when they got the original 911Speedster

And it came with strings, plus they had to be willing to let Porsche have it back. And that is what happened to it. It was a wedding gift to Peter W. Schutz"s daughter. Last I heard, she had gotten divorced and the ex ended up with the speedster and was going to sell it. )
So the idea that just any dealer without special ties to Porsche ended up with a one off turbo doesn't make a lot of sense.
Kind of like this Jag I saw over the weekend.
