That's literally the biggest hurdle.
You'd think the paperwork is a no brainer, just follow the list.
Never seems to work that way.
And they do not have nearly enough staff which is super frustrating.
The local office I use also has the Tax Office in it. For non Texans licensing is separate from vehicle registration / tilting, all handled by the Tax Office.
Anyway, the Tax Office is always nearly empty. You can show up any time of day and be in and out in 10 minutes.
Licensing, they start lining up at 6:00 am. If you show up when they open you are in for an easy 4 hour wait in line. Show up at 10:00 and they won't even bother letting you get on line because they know they won't get to you.
Meanwhile there are a half dozen people next door in the Tax Office picking their noses.
You'd think it was a no brainer that some staff resource reallocation would help things but seemingly no one's gotten the memo.
