Ya know, there are companies that will do that for a fee.

As a kid, we moved on average every 18 months from my earliest memories, to the day I left home and went out on my own. The Air Force would hire a moving company for the moves. I quickly learned to stay in my room and watch them load up a box, and I would use a magic marker to mark the box so I knew to tell the next set of movers where to put those boxes. Dad always said 4 moves is the same as a fire, except for valuable papers and photos.

As an adult we all likely remember the age of helping buddies or girlfriends move. One of the worst moves I helped on was a guy that moved from one apartment into another apartment on the other side of the pool in the same complex. Everything he owned was carried over, no vehicles involved. And the jerk had no beer, and provided pizza with pineapple on it!

I never helped him again. One chick I worked with was cute, and knew how to smile, bat her eyes, and ask a favor. She had a sleeper sofa that I am pretty sure was a full waterbed. It was the heaviest couch on the planet. And of course she needed it hauled upstairs to her apartment.

I only had a 914 at the time, so I was never expected to help haul much, just work. I am glad to be past the age of friends getting married and helping them move.

The bad news is now I mostly go to funerals of long time friends.
