A friend of mine can no longer drive it (or anything else, frankly) and it has been sitting for three years with zero preventive maintenance. It is garaged with just over 50k on it. Some scrapes and dings, top jams and the spoiler doesn't work.
He is basically giving it to me: He is my son's Godfather, very wealthy and in declining health. I have been Driving Mir. Daisy around for years for Dr's appointments, shopping, etc. His health is a mess.
Anyway, I am still in the process of getting smart on the car. I found this link:
https://www.topspeed.com/cars/the-ultimate-guide-to-the-porsche-997-and-all-its-versions-ar195098.html
Any other sources would be greatly appreciated.
The good news is another friend of mine owns a car repair shop and has worked on all the Porsche's I have owned since 1987. He owes me $2500 in trade work and he will get it first after I bring it here to clean up. I will not try and start it, etc.
If it proves to be more than I want to deal with, I will sell it and give the proceeds to my friend minus any investment I make.
Again, any advice is greatly appreciated. My last 911 was a 1994 964 Targa I wish I still had.
