Other than my 996 sitting idle in garage for about 20 months now... I really like it. Life, kids Land Rovers, and other stuff in the way of changing the AOS.
My only complaint was the convertible top required parking brake on and not moving AND you had to keep your finger on the switch to get top up or down. Not sure if this carried over to the 997. I found a company that makes an inline plug that allows top up/down while driving and only one touch of the switch (and no parking brake engagement). You can even raise/lower the top with the key remote.
For me at least, the top was the main thorn in my side.
