Steve, I can definitely see your point but nothing could be further from the truth. I love a good Taco Bell anything, Whopper, mini-Big Mac, etc. It's all about expectations. When I go to fast food, I know what I'm getting. When I go to a Marvel film vs. a Wes Anderson film, my expectations are clear. That's the point. We are talking about a highly budgeted expansion of Tolkien's work. So everyone's expectations should be and are high. The same as Lightyear. Expectations were Toy Story level and it fell incredibly short. Same thing.
Right now Rotten Tomatoes has audience score of 39%. That's realistic.
