I have the magnetic phone holder in my 911 that clamps around the clock. It works great.
My wife's Macan was ordered with Apple Car play. If we plug in the phone and put it in the armrest holder, the phone's display is on the cars dash and the phone can be operated from the dash, but usually we use it for a GPS in places out of town. Of course the Macan is connected to the car via Bluetooth so calls are done hands free for just local driving or on trips.
Both my 911 and my El Camino have head units that can connect to the phone via Bluetooth. I never answer the phone or use it while driving. Just leave a message, it can wait until I am stopped. Hang up the damn phone and drive!
